OnTarget Desktop Release Notes
Start Custom Fields
OnTarget has introduced a new custom field position, Start, which enables users to capture data between the header and body of a service note. Custom fields configured with the Start position will appear at the beginning of the service note for initial data entry in both the OnTarget desktop application and the OnTarget mobile application.
Configuring Start Custom Fields
Custom field settings can be accessed within the OnTarget desktop application by navigating to:
Configure > List Configuration > Notes > Custom Fields.

The process for configuring custom fields remains unchanged. When creating a new custom field or modifying an existing one, users can now select the Start option within the Position field to designate the field’s placement at the beginning of the service note.

Within the Custom Fields window, the display order has been updated to incorporate the Start position. The available position categories now display configured custom fields in the following sequence:
1. Header
2. Start
3. Body
4. Hourly Repeating
5. Footer

Custom Field Reordering:
Successfully added or configured custom fields may be reordered inside the grid by dragging and dropping into the preferred order. However, this is restricted in that reordering the custom fields must occur in the same position. Custom fields cannot be reordered outside their configured position.
The order in which the custom fields appear within the grid is the same order available within the service note for OnTarget desktop and OnTarget mobile applications.
Application and Utilization of Start Custom Fields
OnTarget Desktop
When a service note is created within the OnTarget desktop application, Start custom fields are automatically displayed between the Header and Body sections of the note. Users may complete these fields in the same manner as other custom field positions, ensuring a consistent and intuitive data entry experience.

OnTarget Mobile Application
Creating a service note within the mobile application now initiates an updated workflow designed to support the inclusion of Start custom fields. Upon creation, users are directed to an Initial Assessment page that displays the configured Start custom fields for required data entry.
The Save option on this page allows users to preserve entered information at any time, minimizing the risk of data loss. Additionally, strategically placed navigation buttons enable efficient movement between sections of the service note, providing streamlined access to other areas as needed.

Service Note DMS Record
Upon signing a service note, an associated DMS record is automatically generated, enabling users to access a PDF version of the finalized note. To support the implementation of Start custom fields, the DMS record has been updated to reflect any additional custom fields included in the service note.
Custom fields within the DMS record will display in the same order as they appear in the service note:
1. Header
2. Start
3. Body
4. Hourly Repeating
5. Footer
Please Note: Existing custom fields may be modified to update their assigned Position. This provides flexibility to reassign a custom field from one position to another as needed.
Authorization Comment
OnTarget has introduced a new feature that allows users to add comments directly to an Authorization record from within the Authorization search grid. These comments are associated with the overall Authorization record, which may include multiple services.
A notepad icon has been added to the Authorization search grid to enable users to initiate and access the comment window.

Selecting the notepad icon opens the comment window,
allowing users to enter and save comments. All saved comments are retained and
displayed each time the comment window is accessed. These comments are shared
and visible to all users with access to the Authorization record.

Once a comment is saved, the notepad icon changes color (green)
to indicate that a comment has been added to the Authorization record. This
visual indicator provides users with a quick and easily recognizable reference
that comments are associated with the record.
